Documentation
Everything you need to get the most out of your academic workspace.
Getting started
Create an account with Google or email. After signup, you'll land on your Dashboard with a welcome notification in the top bar — open it for a quick orientation.
Use the search bar in the workspace header to find classrooms by course, subject, or university. Open one to see its materials, members, and study tools.
Classrooms & invites
Classrooms can be public (anyone can find and join), unlisted (link-only), or private (approval required). Set the join policy when you create one.
Every classroom has a shareable invite link and code. Open the Share dialog from a classroom header to copy them — people can join instantly via the link.
Materials, RAG & OCR
Owners and teachers upload lectures, notes, and slides. Pathshala extracts text from PDFs, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and images automatically.
Scanned PDFs and images run through OCR, then every document is chunked and embedded for semantic search. That's how the AI quotes the exact passage that answers your question.
Ask AI (per classroom)
Open the Ask AI tab inside any classroom. The assistant is grounded in that course's materials — ask for summaries, explanations, or practice questions.
Your conversation is saved locally, so it survives switching tabs and reloading the page.
AI Tutor (all courses)
The AI Tutor in the sidebar reads across every classroom you've joined. Use it to connect ideas between subjects or build a revision plan spanning all your courses.
When the tutor uses a document, it tells you which classroom the excerpt came from.
Study tools — quizzes & flashcards
Generate AI quizzes and flashcards from a classroom's materials in the Study tab. Quizzes give you scored answers with per-question explanations; flashcards open in a focused viewer.
Your attempts feed Stats and the readiness ring on the dashboard so you can see which topics still need work.
Preparation & readiness
The Preparation hub gathers exam-style practice across your joined classrooms. The readiness carousel on your dashboard highlights subjects where your accuracy is dropping.
Tap any readiness card to see a detailed breakdown of weak topics and jump straight into a targeted quiz.
Focus Mode (Pomodoro)
Hit Focus Mode on the dashboard — or the floating shield button — to start a Pomodoro timer. It keeps running across pages and shows the countdown in the top bar.
Use it to log deep-work sessions; long enough streaks contribute to your study-time stat.
Calendar & weekly view
The Calendar shows upcoming lectures, deadlines, and scheduled study blocks. The week strip on the dashboard is a quick read-only summary of the next few days.
Click any day in the calendar to plan a study session or attach it to a classroom.
Community & blogs
The Community tab is a feed of posts from across the platform — share notes, ask broad questions, or follow what other students are working on.
Use the blog composer to publish longer write-ups; posts can be tagged to a classroom so the right audience finds them.
Leaderboards
Every classroom has its own leaderboard ranking members by quiz performance. The global Leaderboard page surfaces top students across the platform.
A study-time leaderboard rewards consistency, not just raw scores — Pomodoro sessions count.
Stats & activity
The Stats page visualises your streak, study hours, topics mastered, and an activity calendar of quiz attempts. Use it to spot the days you're slipping.
Owners and teachers also see a teaching variant with class-wide engagement signals.
Teaching workflow
Owners and teachers get a Teaching tab with engagement stats and an approval queue. AI-generated quizzes and flashcards start as drafts — publishing them makes them visible to the class.
The Teaching hub in the sidebar lists every classroom you run with quick signals like member count, published quizzes, and pending join requests.
Notifications
The bell in the top bar surfaces in-app updates — starting with a welcome card the first time you sign in. Mark items as read to clear the red dot.
More notification types (classroom invites, quiz reminders, approval requests) light up the same bell as they happen.
Language & theme
Switch the workspace language between English and বাংলা from the globe icon in the top bar. Your choice is remembered per device.
Toggle light and dark mode from the sun/moon icon — the editorial palette is tuned for both.
Plans & billing
The Pricing page lists Free, Student Pro, and Campus plans. Upgrades go through a secure Paddle checkout; while the site is in test mode you'll see an orange banner and can use test cards.
Manage your subscription from Account → Billing once you're on a paid plan.
